BIOGRAPHY

paul portraitPaul Stenzel graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1995. Upon receiving his J.D., he worked as a Staff Attorney for the Stockbridge-Munsee Community Indian Tribe from 1995 to 2003.

In September, 2003 Paul joined the firm of von Briesen & Roper, s.c., in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he continued to practice Indian law. In May, 2005, Paul opened Stenzel Law Office LLC.

Paul's practice has focused extensively on federal Indian law since the inception of his legal career. His major areas of interest are tribal court development, state-tribal judicial relations and jurisdictional issues relating to Public Law 280.

In 2007 Paul became a trained mediator and has honed his skills ever since. He now practices facilitative mediation in a variety of areas with a focus on family mediation.

Since January, 2013 Paul has worked as a Deputy Family Court Commissioner in Racine County, Wisconsin where he hears post-judgment motions, stipulated final divorces, child support enforcement actions, temporary hearings and domestic violence injunction requests.

Paul lives in Shorewood, Wisconsin with his wife Christina and their daughter Emma.
